Last week we learned we have three “wizards” in our office of seven: me in the title role of the Memphis Children’s Theatre production of The Wizard of Oz; one of my associates, same role, different place, different decade; and a guy I work with now, Davis Lundy who was described as “the man behind the curtain” in an opinion piece e-published on chattanoogan.com.
Davis Lundy a “wizard”…a grand manipulator, puller-of-strings, sneaky illusionist who lurks in the shadows of public opinion? Hardly.
I’ve known Davis Lundy for almost 25 years. In our former lives, we worked together on projects when he was at the newspaper and I was at the TV station. Yes, we also butted heads several times when he worked at Erlanger Hospital and I was at a different TV station. Davis was passionate in those days about the issues he represented and even though we didn’t agree, we agreed to disagree. Such is life!
His detractors should consider getting a life.
Oh, and Lundy’s been called a “Madison Avenue gunslinger” too.
