The steady increase in gas prices over the past couple of years has sparked the development of alternative fuel. Ethanol, mainly composed of corn, was created for this purpose and is contributing to the food shortages in this country. So far corn and rice are the crops becoming short in supply, but it is only a matter of time before that shortage spreads. It’s like a small sore left untreated that turns into a full-blown infection. The greed of our nation’s leaders is running everyone else’s future into the ground.
It is to the point where the United States is on the verge of being a third-world country. There is no other country out there that can donate to the people here and we are continually exporting goods and food around the globe. Granted we are a fortunate and established nation, but our families are slowly losing out on essential staple foods needed in our diets.
Someone somewhere is going to have to step up and say that enough is enough. Otherwise, there will be nothing left of this country to call sophisticated or to eat because it will have been converted into an alternative fuel source. By the way…what’s for dinner?
